Privacy & project information

Your music is personal.

Keeping a collection on your own devices is central to Pixelody. Here is where the project stands today, including the parts still being prepared.

Local listening

Pixelody works with music files, artwork, playlists, and settings on your devices. Connected listening features exchange data with a host you choose to pair with. They are a separate part of the experience from playing phone-local music.

Development networking is not a public cloud music service. Consult the current networking documentation before exposing a host beyond your private network.

This website

There is no Pixelody customer account system, upload form, real-money checkout, or Pixelody-configured analytics here. The hosting service receives ordinary request and security data. The Cloudflare website is publicly accessible; the earlier Sites copy retains its separate access controls.

The module shop distributes free Listening Notes and RevenueCat Shop packages for compatible test builds. Connecting to Test Store sends an anonymous identifier and test purchase activity to RevenueCat; the identifier is saved in this browser where storage is available. No payment information is collected and notes are not synced. The workshop is a separate browser simulation, and real-money checkout is not available.

GPL 3.0 is the chosen direction.

I want people to learn from Pixelody, improve it, and create their own versions under GPL 3.0. The repository’s actual license text governs reuse; this page is not a substitute for that text. Contribution instructions are being brought into line with that choice.

Community creations

Themes, modules, and community distribution are still being developed. Uploads, creator listings, and sales are not open. When those features arrive, their terms and privacy information will need to explain clearly what people are sharing and buying.
